Discipleship Classes

Disciple Bible Studies help to develop strong Christian leaders through regular, in-depth, study of Scripture. Disciple making and Christian nurturing are their goals. It is best said in Ephesians 4:12: “to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ.”

Disciple studies are equally divided between the Old Testament and the New Testament and uses resources such as a study Bible, short video and study manual to help the small group facilitate discussions.

Disciple I

“Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study”

This 34 week study covers most of the books of the Old and New Testaments. The group begins with “Creation” (Genesis) and concludes with “The New Jerusalem” in the book of Revelation. This class is considered foundational and desired study prior to taking the others.

Disciple II

“Into the Word Into the World”

This 32 week study selects specific portions of Scripture and goes deeper into them. The study concentrates on four books:

Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Acts.

Disciple III

“Remember Who You Are”

This 32 week study concentrates on the Old Testament Prophets and the letters of Paul. The Prophets and Paul continually call their hearers and readers back to their God in a sense of who they are as a“set apart” people.

Disciple IV

“Under the Tree of Life

This 32 week study concentrates on the “Writings” of the Old Testament:

16 weeks are spent studying: Ruth, Chronicles 1 & 2, Ezra, Nehemiah, Ester, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Lamentations and Daniel.

An additional 16 weeks are spent studying the New Testament Scriptures: Gospel of John, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd John, James, Jude and Revelation.

Disciple V
“Jesus in the Gospels”
This 30 week study covers the way each Gospel writer presents events, teachings and the picture of Jesus that emerges in each of
the Gospels.
Lessons 1-22 concentrate on the Synoptic Gospels: Matthew, Mark and Luke, with some related passages from John.                    Lessons 23-30 concentrate on the Gospel of John with supporting passages from the Old and New Testament.
Christian Believer
This 30 week study integrates scripture with Christian Doctrine. Participants will come to think of the different church doctrines as being connected to one another, to scripture, to historical understanding of the scripture, and to life today.
