Important Update about Worship Service and
Activities at TUMC!
We had a wonderful in-person worship service this past Sunday and are excited to see everyone again this coming Sunday at Parks Place on Trinity’s campus at 10:00am.
Since this worship is outside, there are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Bring insect spray for your personal use.  NOTE: We are aware there was an ant & mosquito issue for some sitting along the trees by the Stone House and every effort is being taken to alleviate that prior to this Sunday.
  • BYOC: Bring Your Own Chair (and/or Canopy). We anticipate seating under the Parks’ Place shelter will be used by our more senior and/or at risk church members.
  • While you are encouraged to bring your own chair, there will be some folding chairs available for those who don’t bring one of their own.
  • Remember to stay hydrated by bringing bottled water.
  • Social distancing will still apply. Please place your or your family’s chairs at least 6 feet from others.
  • Although it is safer to worship outside, it is highly recommended and expected that you wear a mask. (A supply of masks will be available to those who may not have one).
  • The service will be live-streamed and/or recorded for those who are unable to attend.
As the Body of Christ at Trinity Blythewood, we will be engaging with one another in a Covenant for Returning to Worship (Adapted from Pinnacle Leadership Associates):
  • Assume the best in one another and be patient with each other as we navigate a new reality.
  • Not come to church if we are not feeling well.
  • Clean and sanitize after every gathering.
  • Keep 6 feet distance from those not in our households.
  • Sanitize our hands when we enter the building (or worship space).
  • Refrain from hugging and shaking hands.
  • Wear masks when we are indoors together (or outdoors as needed).
  • Offer alternatives to the practices of passing offering plates, communion elements, and bulletins.
  • Continue worship and small gatherings online even when we can gather together.
Yes, things will look, feel and be different from what we have experienced at church previously. However, what will be the same is The Spirit of the Lord Is in This Place!
More details and plans for plans for inclement weather will follow.

Who We Are

Trinity United Methodist Church is a fellowship of diverse believers united by our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We exist to make and nurture disciples of Jesus Christ through inspiring worship, transforming Bible study, and compassionate outreach. We strive to be a caring community of open hearts, open minds, and open doors where all may experience the love of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit. We commit ourselves through prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness so that God will use us to transform our community and the world.

What We Believe

Our number one belief is Love. We believe that God the Father loves his creation. We believe Jesus, His son, loved us so much that He died to defeat our sin and rose again to remove death for those who believe. We believe the Holy Spirit dwells in believers and helps us to expand our love for God and everyone else.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make and nurture disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Trinity UMC is first and foremost a community united around Jesus Christ. We are traditional and contemporary, liberal and conservative, young and old, believers and skeptics, wealthy and poor, talkative and quiet. Ultimately, we find our unity and love for one another in our pursuit of knowledge of the Divine. Also, most of us are Methodist in theology but don’t feel like you need to be Methodist in order to join us in celebrating the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
